Key Points
- This is the 2nd to last major race for many athletes to earn an auto-qualification for the Paris Olympics
- The American battle for qualification on both the men's and women's sides is extremely nail-biting. If an athlete secures a podium, they qualify. Otherwise, it goes down to discretionary picks from the federation. So a good result could still mean they earn a spot.
- Both defending Olympic Champions, Kristian Blummenfelt and Flora Duffy, are on the start-list and will hope to show that they are still the favorites.
